On our way from Big Bear to Lake Tahoe, we decided to break up the drive and spend a night near Yosemite. We found the perfect spot on a vista overlooking Mono Lake.
While we usually camp at places that require four-wheel drive, this spot was surprisingly easy to get to. We were limping up to Tahoe with a bent axle flange on this particular day, so we needed somewhere that would be easy on the Jeep. We didn’t expect anything special under the circumstances, but we ended up finding one of our favorite places yet!
Despite being just off a dirt road, the spot felt surprisingly private. We had some neighbors down the way, but we were far enough apart that we both had our space.
The coordinates for this spot are: 37.922670, -119.042022
If that particular spot is taken, there are plenty of other dirt roads around nearby as well, so you’re bound to find a great location. Four-wheel drive is not required for where we camped.
